Training method

Training focuses on a practical, pragmatic martial art, free from aesthetic frills. Shorin-ryu is designed for short-range self-defense and adapts naturally to the characteristics of each practitioner, regardless of age, gender, or physical structure.

The study program includes:
  • Kata and bunkai: study of forms and their practical application in self-defense and full-combat contexts.
  • Bogu kumite: practice of full-contact combat in complete safety.
  • Kyusho, joint manipulations, and throws: impact techniques on vital points, submissions, and short-range throws.
  • Hojo undo: conditioning and physical strengthening, both traditional and modern.
  • Bojutsu: study of stick fighting.
  • Koshiki bojutsu: full-contact combat with a rubber stick and protective gear.

Master Emanuel Giordano and instructor Manuel Vignola demonstrate a basic bunkai
